Marie traveled to Kyoto last week with her 7th grade class. Kyoto is the old capital of Japan and has many historic treasures including the stunning Golden Pavilion.
She also visited Hiroshima, where the atom bomb was dropped 50 years ago, devastating the whole region and ending World War II. She learned a lot visiting the peace museum there.
Her trip also included a stop over in Miyajima, a small island off the west coast.
She traveled by bullet train and was gone for three whole days. We missed her, but she had a fabulous time! Above: The Golden Pavilion; and Marie with her best friends, Laharre and MaKayla.
